About the Role

We’re looking for someone interested in a position to help us grow our business. As a Senior Data Governance Specialist, you will have a deep knowledge of how data feeds into the business and will design, implement and ensure adoption to a data governance framework. You will define data best practices, policies, and standards both at a technical and functional level. This role will partner with all areas of the business, and align with roles from leadership to subject matter experts to serve as a single point of contact for strategic data needs.

What You Will Do

During the 1st Month:

• Collaborate with various team members to learn about the company, its objectives, and our core metrics.
• Work with members of our Data Quality and Data Engineering groups to understand our data, its structure, and how your role fits within the team.
• Work with leadership to identify key partners, roles, and data needs within the business. 

Within 3 Months:

• Assume responsibility for the Catalog software and metadata management.
• Create a Data Governance Charter, and define an engagement model for how stakeholders should interact with the catalog and the Data Governance and Quality group.
• Partner with data leadership to define a data certification process.

• Learn about and define the various data-related roles within the organization.
• Start connecting with key stakeholders on a regular cadence.

Within 6 Months:

• Work with your manager to identify the highest impact data challenges to define the data governance KPIs and a data governance report.
• Start building a roadmap and backlog to improve the structure, processes, and tooling for our data.
• Start defining and own a strategy around data compliance and security.

Within 12 months:

• Align with data leadership and your manager to define a Data Governance Council.
• Develop and execute against methods that improve our data processes at scale.

What We Are Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in business management, statistics, information technology or a related field
• At least 5 years of related experience
• Proven experience developing strategies to improve data process and quality
• Hands on experience with SQL and databases
• Experience with a data catalog software a plus
• Continuous learner who wants to learn and grow with the position and company

Compensation 

Our national target base salary range is $81,000-$101,000, plus participation in our Annual Bonus and Stock Option Program. Base compensation will be commensurate with experience and skills.
