Job Description:
Pluralsight is the technology workforce development company that helps teams build better products by knowing more and working better together. Using our Skills and Flow products, teams can develop critical skills, improve processes and gain insights through data.
We build this exciting product ecosystem by working with smart people and uniting behind a passion for what tech can create. We’re a group of good-natured, nimble go-getters dedicated to helping people and businesses build better with technology. That means when we see opportunities to create, we go for it. We don’t let the unknown stop us from solving challenges and winning together. And most importantly, we treat each other like adults. If you can see possibilities where others see problems, have candid conversations to ensure all voices are heard and thrive in a collaborative environment, you’ll do some of the best work of your career here.
The VP of Data Engineering for Pluralsight’s Technology Organization, reporting to our CTO, will have direct responsibility for our data engineering and data governance initiatives within Technology.
The successful candidate will lead teams of data engineers and data stewards, setting priorities and empowering the directors in the group with the tools, budget, and communications that are vital for them to deliver high quality and highly available data. The leader of this organization will direct all aspects of an ecosystem of streaming and batch data pipelines for product data and will guide our efforts to improve our product data by applying the data cataloging and quality capabilities we’ve begun developing.
As part of Pluralsight’s Common Services Alliance, this leader will collaborate with the leaders of Data Science / Machine Learning Engineering, Product Management, and Platform Operations to employ data that accelerates effective product development. The organization works to deliver both data products to our subscribers and the analytics that drive our product decisions.
Extensive experience as a data professional with groundbreaking data management and governance projects have prepared you for this role. You’ve proven your abilities as a systems thinker to lead large-scale technical and organizational change. Technically trained, inquisitive, and an excellent communicator, you care about quality data, understand business needs, and value empathy.
