Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring for Sr. Data Solutions Architect/Team Lead (Remote) to provide their hands on experience and leadership skills to building advanced data ingest process while leveraging our clients Data Lake and other analytic COTS tools. This is a 100% remote position with the possibility of client requested travel 1-2 times per year.

Our candidate will have a proven track record in leading and delivering Cloud Data Systems and Solutions Architecture for complex organizations. We are seeking a self-starter technical leader who will guide their team of Data Engineers and Analysts to enable secure/reliable advance analytic capabilities for our VA clients.   Our candidate will clearly communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences to define processes for our future state architecture that leverage data lake capabilities and supports the ingestion of raw data from authoritative sources.  Our Architect will define use patterns for curating and publishing data products, using cloud native tools. And our candidate will be highly proficient working with business stakeholders and directing project teams and will have direct experience of a range of BI Tools and data analytic platforms.

Responsibilities for both technical team leadership and the solution design will include but will include but not limited to:

  • Leading technical team to deliver high quality and timely results.
  • Work with stakeholders and VA leadership on prioritizing initiatives and setting expectations.
  • Solution design using Microsoft Azure services and related tools.
  • Design of enterprise data models and Data solutions.
  • Specification of ELT/ETL pipelines, data integration and data migration design, with low code no code tools.
  • Design & implementation of Master data management solutions.
  • Specification of Data Quality Management methodology and supporting technology tools.
  • Working within a project management/agile delivery methodology in a leading role as part of a wider team.
  • Collaborate with other stakeholders/end users in the software development lifecycle – PMs, BAs, testing etc.
  • Overall Product Security Awareness and cost optimization.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business, or related scientific/technical discipline and a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience required - 4 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.
  • Direct experience of solution shaping and architecture development during planning & delivery including excellent documentation skills.
  • 3+ years IT team leadership.
  • Data modeling, mapping data flows and data design experience.
  • ELT/ETL experience.
  • Hands-on experience solutioning and implementing analytical capabilities using the Azure Data Analytics platform including, Azure Data Factory, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Azure Storage, Azure SQL Data Warehouse/Synapse, Azure Data Lake.
  • Experience in the design of reporting & data visualization solutions such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Experience with Master Data Management & Data Quality tools.
  • Experience designing and implementing machine learning solutions as part of high-volume data ingestion and transformation pipelines.

Clearance Required

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance

Posted Pay Range

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Pay range: $140,000 - $170,000 Annually
