Are you passionate about the use of data visualization techniques to enable Olive to get smarter overtime while delivering value directly to health systems? As a Business Intelligence Team Lead, you will focus on providing technical guidance for a superstar team of data analysts and BI engineers. You will collaborate with analytic partners and business partners from product, customer success, data strategy, and infrastructure to develop effective solutions for our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with business and product stakeholders to identify high impact customer intelligence use cases that demonstrate value to the organization
  • Document projects including business objectives, data gathering and processing, detailed set of results and analytics metrics
  • Work with product management and engineering to identify and scope data aggregations that facilitate analysis of customer questions
  • Partner with our Analytics Engineering team to enhance data infrastructure, data availability, and broad access to customer insights made available through Tableau
  • Guide build of small- to midsize business intelligence (BI) solutions – data sets, queries, reports, dashboards, analyses – or components of larger solutions to answer business questions with data
  • Review secure, stable, testable, and maintainable code with minimal defects, and automate manual processes where possible
  • Use one or more industry analytics visualization tools (i.e. Excel, Tableau) and, as needed, statistical methods (e.g. t-test, Chi-squared) to deliver actionable insights to stakeholders
  • Invent, refine, and develop BI solutions to ensure they meet the needs of the business, while continuously optimizing user experience
  • Troubleshoot data, analyses, and code, research root causes, propose solutions, and take ownership in next steps for their resolution
  • Execute on multiple projects simultaneously while being cognizant of project priorities and established timelines.·
  • Be a thought leader in the data organization, proactively identifying high-value analyses and helping to steer the direction of the team
  • Solution oriented leader who demonstrates creativity and curiosity
  • Experience managing up to 5 team members.
  • Bachelor Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics, or in an Engineering or Sciences discipline or related degree
  • Experience with data querying or modeling with SQL
  • Experience with building and maintain basic data artifacts (e.g. ETL, data models, queries)
  • Experience with one or more industry analytics visualization tools (e.g. Excel, Tableau, QuickSight, MicroStrategy, PowerBI) and statistical methods (e.g. t-test, Chi-squared)
  • Knowledge of how to improve code quality and optimizes BI processes (e.g. speed, cost, reliability)
  • Experience with scripting language (e.g., Python, Java)
  • Experience with Agile tools, Jira, Trello, Pivotal Tracker, or related
  • High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, creative decision-making, and technical problem-solving abilities
  • Strong and effective written and verbal interpersonal skills with the ability to tailor your message to your audience, including ability to work in a self-directed environment
  • Able to develop process improvement plans that incorporate observations and key performance trends

Preferred Skills/Experience Nice to Have:

  • Experience in analyzing healthcare or biomedical data
  • Knowledge of data modeling and data pipeline design
  • Application of basic statistical methods (e.g. regression) for difficult business problems
  • Understanding of continuous Integration, testing, deployment and release methodologies
  • Version control such as GIT, Subversion, Team Foundation
  • Ability to understand large scale software and system architecture
  • Knowledge of programming concepts that support computational efficiencies (parallelism, container-based code)
