Payment Operations Business Analyst

The Payment Operations Business Analyst [Internally Titled Product Operations Business Analyst] serves as the key contributor in delivering and supporting evolving disruptive offerings brought to market by Billtrust. This position works cross-functionally alongside a team of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) engineering counterparts, and is the subject matter expert on the product's data footprint. The Product Operations Business Analyst partners with internal teams to identify and implement areas for improvement, automation, and scale and provides support to both internal and external customers.

What You'll Do:

  • Examine complex data and turn it into information and insight to inform business decisions
  • Plan, design, develop and perform assessments on data elements and structures to document and evaluate integrity, completeness, and quality
  • Build internal and external operational reports for multiple stakeholder groups
  • Research functionality gaps and develop opportunities for development backlog prioritization
  • Manage identified issues through data interpretation and analyzation
  • Configures, operates and develops manual and/or automated processes to test output or input based on data compliance, quality and user requirements
  • Gather data and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders based on activity
  • Facilitate communication between internal teams, customers, and third parties such as financial institutions
  • Collaborate with team supporting collective team and individual KPIs
  • Identify and suggest areas for improvement, automation, and scale

What You'll Do: 

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience - 2+ years of relevant experience preferred
  • Demonstrated experience using data to solve problems (collecting, managing and measuring quality)
  • Proven ability to perform data pattern recognition and other data research
  • Proven ability in creating data element mappings between two or more distinct data models
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to effectively answer complex questions related to financial data
  • Strong technical skills in understanding complex data infrastructures
  • Ability to analyze data and provide valuable business insights and suggestions
  • Knowledge in working with CSV, delimited, XML and other types of data files
  • Familiarity in writing SQLYOG or other querying databases for troubleshooting and analysis
  • Experience gathering and documenting business requirements and workflow processes
  • Track record of successfully prioritizing work efforts based upon customer needs, committed delivery dates and complexity, in a rapidly-changing environment
  • Proven ability to interface with internal and external clients to manage expectations and deadlines; i.e. scheduling, communication, escalation and risk analysis
  • Ability to partner with various teams to identify and implement areas for improvement, automation, and scale
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and a results-driven attitude
  • Prior scripting or programming experience is preferred

The expected base salary range for this position is $55,000.00 - $70,000 annually.
Compensation may vary depending on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, competencies, and geographic location. Some roles may qualify for extra incentives like equity, commissions, or other variable performance-related bonuses.
