Job Description:

As a data scientist reporting to and partnering within the Strategy & Business Intelligence org at Pluralsight, you will work closely with multiple operational teams to gain a broad understanding of the company’s data science needs.

The challenges you will be presented with are sophisticated and require a variety of data science methodologies to solve them, including but not limited to: time series forecasting, machine learning classification, advanced statistical analysis and causal inference. In this exciting role, you will see the direct impact your work has on improving business outcomes.

What you’ll own:

  • Discovery of opportunities for applying data science

  • Cross-functional project collaboration on data science results

  • Development and implementation of analyses and predictive models

  • Continuous testing and improvement of deployed solutions

  • Distillation of algorithms to business partners, eliminating “black box” distrust

  • Presentation of results to business partners and company leaders

Experience you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree with minimum 3 years of professional data science experience or 1-2 years of data science experience with graduate degree or equivalent experience in related field

  • Proven professional or educational background in inferential statistics, causal inference modeling approaches, and machine learning classification/regression models

  • Intermediate/advanced python proficiency (ability to productionalize data science models, write and debug complex python functions, familiarity with common python ML packages)

  • Understanding of data science machine learning production pipeline; background in AWS MLOps preferred but not required

Travel Requirements

While Pluralsight operates under a remote and hybrid work model, we believe that in-person connection and collaboration are important. Recurring travel to our HQ in Utah may be required depending on the role and team member location.

Physical and Mental requirements

Work is performed in an office (or home office) environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Sedentary work. Repetitive work. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
