Are you a business focused engineer looking for a role where you can use your analytical and engineering skills? If so, Splunk is looking for a passionate data engineering candidate to play a highly visible role in helping us support our growing GTM Business. As a data engineer within Enterprise Applications Transformation Office, you will work with our team’s data systems analysts, IT, Finance, Sales, and CX to help drive operational excellence and performance insights across the organization and help in integrating Cisco and Splunk. To democratize, maintain, optimize, and grow our GTM analytics you will need to have excellent attention to detail, engage with internal business partners in a highly effective way, apply software engineering best practices to analytics code, and transform data into actionable insights.
What you'll get to do:
- Design and develop go to market analytics using dbt, Snowflake, and Python.
- Coordinate production analytics deployments with the Analytics Data Platform Team and downstream dashboard delivery with the Tableau engineering team.
- Develop a deep hands-on understanding of our data and benchmarking
- Understand the broader data management strategy and landscape at Splunk to ensure our team’s current and future development is in alignment.
- Finding practical ways to bring together data and insights to monitor and diagnose the performance of the business.
- Identifying opportunities to improve systems, process, and data, eliminate gaps in performance insight and bring accurate and timely information to bear.
- Lead documentation efforts to provide a single source of truth for GTM metrics across the company.
- Blending the energy of immediate needs for tactical data with helping support and direct longer term, scalable strategies for the business’s operational and analytical needs.
- Working cross functionally with adjacent operations and analytics and business alteration teams to integrate data, process and metrics requirements into wider corporate initiatives
- Passionate about driving Splunk’s Cloud/Term renewal strategy, including supporting target setting, coverage modeling, capacity planning and forecasting in collaboration with CSMs, Renewals, Sales, Sales Operations and Finance.
- Overall, being a partner to the business, understanding and prioritizing work based on the insight it can deliver to positively and directly impact Splunk’s bottom line.
Must-have qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree is required; a bonus if your academic background is in a numerate subject area (Mathematics, Computer Science, Stats).
- 5+ years of practical, current, hands-on knowledge of data management and analytics solutions including Snowflake, DBT, SQL, and Python.
- Experience working with Gitlab or an equivalent version control system
- Deep understanding of data engineering, architecture, and systems to help identify the best tools and best practices for the job
- Highly organized and experienced using JIRA to maintain work visibility to manager and teammates
- Proven grasp of SaaS and/or Enterprise Sales business model with understanding of customer life span measures and revenue streams.
- Familiarity with Enterprise Sales Infrastructure, such as Salesforce.com, Sales & Renewals Management/Recurring Revenue Management concepts such as contracts, entitlements, subscriptions, and opportunities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including effective listening; composing clear, concise correspondence, internal policies, procedures, presentations, and reports.
- Possess a keen business insight with the ability to handle, survey and supervise data for an experienced and often complicated process.
- You should have impressive analytical skills and can accurately summarize and present multiplex principles to an external crowd.
- Demonstrable ability to build, document, implement, measure and enhance processes and procedures.
- Ability to effectively prioritize within elaborate business structures; thrives when working in a fast paced, high-growth, results driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with Tableau for data visualization.

SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area
Base Pay Range: $146,400.00 - 201,300.00 per year
California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts
Base Pay Range: $131,760.00 - 181,170.00 per year
All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.
Base Pay Range: $117,120.00 - 161,040.00 per year
Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
