Reporting to the Engineering Manager of Data Infrastructure, you will help establish our enterprise data platform and the processes that build it. You will work with the Data Architect and other team members to build, test, and operationalize many infrastructure and software components in this space.
This is a full-time position. We support remote work from anywhere in the U.S.
What You'll Do
- Build resilient systems at scale with high velocity and high-volume data flows.
- Build processes for sourcing, processing, contextualizing, and modeling our data.
- Build near-real-time streaming pipelines.
- Build highly automated software solutions to data processing problems.
- Implement event-driven data ingestion methodologies with Kafka on Amazon MSK and Spark Structured Streaming on Amazon EMR.
- Build ELT processes using Data Build Tool (dbt).
- Grow our data warehouse’s data wealth and customer adoption.
- Implement the security team’s data security and privacy policies.
- Enforce our data retention policies, minimizing liability and cost while maximizing the data lifecycle.
- Build and maintain a data catalog, data dictionary, and technical documentation sourced from our data assets and software solutions.
What We'll Expect From You
- 1+ years of experience in the development of one or more of these technologies

- Azure Synapse (SQL Data Warehouse)

- Other leading RDBMS
- Intermediate knowledge of any SQL dialect.
- Conceptual understanding of data modeling.
- A willingness to comply with zero-trust patterns and related security design principles.
Nice to Haves
- Experience with Python, Spark, or Scala.
- Experience working with large datasets (one or more terabytes) and volumes (millions or billions of transactions per day).
- Experience with non-graphic data movement and pipeline tools (ie. Airflow, dbt, Kafka, Amazon Kinesis, Amazon EMR).
