About the Role:

The vision of the Merchandising Analytics is to provide unmatched product experiences precisely where customers are looking. This involves harnessing customer, competitor, and product intelligence to drive merchandising actions at scale. Examples include optimizing listing keywords to enhance customer reach on Amazon or refining listing content, such as titles, bullets, and imagery, to improve conversion rates. We build best-in-class data assets and perform analytics to deeply understand our customers, competitors, and products. We use measurements and analytics to drive actionable insights about the digital placement and presentation of our products to customers. Our solutions and capabilities are designed to scale seamlessly across the entire portfolio and all sales channels.

As a Data Analytics Manager on the Merchandising Analytics team, you play a pivotal role in harnessing data & analytics to provide actionable insights that shape both algorithmic and commercial operator-driven decisions for merchandising optimization, as well as inform decisions on demand and supply investments. These decisions wield significant influence over the company’s financial and strategic trajectory. You will work with a talented team of individuals who are passionate about building a world-class technology platform and creating a unique launchpad for brand success.

Key Responsibilities:

    • You will play a pivotal role in steering the strategic data and analytics roadmap for the Merchandising Analytics team.
    • As an analytical thought leader, you'll leverage diverse data sources to drive operational decisions in areas including Brand Management, Marketing, and Demand Forecasting. For example, establishing data-driven competitor sets using trends in customer search patterns and product demand to create metrics like the relative price index.
    • You will guide and mentor your team in developing innovative analyses and distilling insights for executives and cross-functional leaders. For instance, examining our product's conversion rate relative to the markets that it operates in and presenting key insights to senior leadership.
    • You will partner with senior leaders across the organization to elevate the strategic use of data in critical decision-making. For example, deploying portfolio segmentation-driven competitive playbooks at scale, working closely with brand managers and the demand optimization team.

What you bring to the party:

    • 5+ years work experience in a relevant field, 2+ years in a leadership role.
    • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Systems, Economics, Management or other quantitative discipline field with strong academic record.
    • Proficiency with SQL or a structured programming language (aggregate functions, query optimization, database management, stored procedures, string parsing, Vertica/Hive/Presto/Spark, etc.).
    • Proven experience leading a high-performing team of analysts in executing complex analyses and designing analytical tools.
    • Proficient in cross-functional collaboration across business and technology teams, adept at managing a diverse set of stakeholders.
    • Strong executive communication skills and ability to tailor style to all levels.
    • Experience designing and implementing visible, and innovative analytical strategies.
    • Strong critical thinking and structured problem-solving skills; Ability to break down an ambiguous problem into manageable parts, drive it to a solution, and explain it clearly to non-experts.

If we identify a role that would be suitable for a broader range of skills and experience such that we would consider hiring at multiple levels then the range listed above may reflect that breadth.  If offered a position, the actual base annual salary will be contained in your offer letter.In addition to the base annual salary listed above, this position is eligible for short-term [and long-term] incentive compensation, as well as benefits, which are subject to the applicable plans, policies and definitive documentation regarding such compensation and benefits.
