The Role

Highlight is looking for a Data Analyst, to support project and account management across our growing enterprise and emerging client base.

As an integral member of our Client Success team, the Data Analyst is focused on surfacing strategic problems, building technology and analytics solutions, and making actionable recommendations in support of growth KPIs. He or she will be responsible for analyzing internal data to inform and optimize our project management and execution strategy across emerging and enterprise clients. He or she will be focused on creating best practices and building the right tools to improve the product research process, when it comes to participant recruitment, timelines, data quality, and community engagement.

The ideal candidate will have experience leading data-centric projects across a wide cross-functional landscape, and be driven to create tools, best practices and methods that support process efficiency and the highest level of data quality for our clients.

This role comes with the freedom to explore different initiatives and methodologies for operational efficiencies and product development, and would work across the organization alongside community growth, client success, and product teams. As an early hire, the Data Analyst will be instrumental in supporting the growth and retention of our client accounts and should be prepared to identify and optimize the proper tools, features, and strategies to refine our process. Ultimately, we envision this person to grow with the company, collaborating cross-functionally to continuously refine the feature roadmap, according to the areas of refinement and opportunity along the account management process that you identity.

Your Impact

Three months into the role, you’ll...

  • extract data from 3rd party platforms, transform and clean data, and ensure accuracy and quality of data in order to track shipping, logistics, and fieldwork process for all live projects

  • tackle other ad hoc data requests as needed to help diagnose issues that arise

  • have completed a full audit of Highlight's current account management tools and channels, and start to formulate a list of tools, methods, and processes that could be leveraged to optimize and automate the account management process

  • begin to work with the Head of Client Success to create dashboards containing a mix of data visualizations and tables that help identify the areas of refinement and opportunity along the account management process

Six months into the role, you’ll...

  • own the creation and integration of automation tools that we've aligned are right for solving the project management issues you've identified

  • have a clear understanding of high level company growth KPIs, and be efficient in extracting data for strategic collaboration

  • be leading the charge on independently planning, leading and performing analysis of data and trends to provide actionable insights to the Product, Client Success, and Community teams

  • be collaborating cross-functionally, working with Product, Client Success, and Community teams to refine feature roadmap according to ideal processes and workflows that lead to client success, process efficiency and high data quality

A year into the role, you’ll...

  • have helped build predictable and measurable strategies and playbooks for increasing client satisfaction and retention, creating process efficiencies, and delivering the highest level of data quality for our clients

  • have established clear cross-functional responsibilities to ensure productive collaboration across our Client Success, Community and Product teams

  • have crafted an ongoing experimentation program, including hypothesis formulation, experimental design, significance-setting, and post-experiment analysis in support of Client Success and Community iniatives

THE RIGHT CANDIDATE WILL:

  • Have a BA or BS degree in marketing, economics, statistics, communications, or a related field from a 4-year university

  • 2-3 years experience in a related field, preferably in a startup environment or on lean teams, with SQL, Tableau, Python, and/or product analytics tools such as Amplitude, Mixpanel, etc.

  • Be an Excel wizard, driven to automate, create tools, best practices and methods that support process efficiency and the highest level of data quality for our clients

  • Have a keen eye for efficiency and the experience to know how and when to optimize internal processes with no-code automations and integrations

  • Have strong presentation skills, including the ability to tell a story with data and to synthesize findings into actionable recommendations

  • Bring an analytic mindset and natural curiosity to all you do

  • Be detail-oriented to ensure airtight operational execution

  • Be flexible and agile in responding to evolving business priorities and embracing new roles and responsibilities

  • Be self-motivated, detail-oriented, a problem-solver, and can work well in a self-directed, team-oriented environment

  • Be eager to learn, committed to getting 1% better everyday and be open to feedback

  • Be authorized to work in the United States

Nice to haves:

  • Experience with creating and analyzing AB testing scenarios and hypothesis development

  • Knowledge of user segmentation and preferable consumer insights experience
