Overview of Position
The Business Intelligence QA (Quality Assurance) Analyst is responsible for testing and assuring the quality of analytical and reporting solutions to support the operational and strategic imperatives of the organization. As BI QA Analyst, this position will be a part of the Business Intelligence and Analytics team, working closely with Information System teams following the Agile development process to ensure data hygiene and integrity in the reporting/analytics infrastructure.
This position will be responsible for the testing of the data warehouse tables in accordance with operational and business rule changes and upgrades. This will include test case creation and execution, defect finding, data analyses, testing of business rule logic and ensuring schedule adherence for assigned QA projects. This position will be required to understand the Operations Processing and Execution across various functional units of business and to perform Q/A for the new reports and dashboards developed and code changes made.
Primary Responsibilities
Participate in use case/user story reviews
Provides estimates for testing schedules and UAT/Product Validation
Responsible for generating QA-related documentation
Ensuring adherence to standardized QA policies, processes and documentation
Execution of test cases and adherence to test schedule
Responsible for being familiar with operational procedures and exceptions that impact the data and for utilizing this knowledge to ensure that QA processes and procedures for test environments are followed to ensure the data integrity in the various environments
Efficiently work in an Agile project management setting
Qualifications
Qualifications
Technical Skills:
2+ years of experience in using SQL for data analysis
1+ years of experience with any major RDBMS, preferably MS SQL Server and the ability to write SQL queries using table joins
Knowledge of a typical Agile, SDLC, and SQA methodology
Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Excellent testing resource planning and test scheduling skills
Ability to build test plans and test cases
Ability to communicate and work closely with other teams and/or team members
Preferred Skills:
Understanding of Analytics tools like Tableau
1+ years of experience testing in BI Testing or RDBMS testing
Understanding of Data Warehouse concepts, star schema models, database design concepts and architecture for data warehouse is a big plus
Soft Skills:
Strong analytical, problem-solving, time management and organizational skills
Able to multi-task and follow through on assignments to completion
Ability to prioritize work with tight schedules and target dates
Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment as part of a high-performing team
Education:
Degree in Quantitative Discipline or Computer Science/Information Systems

Salary Range: $50,000 - $75,000
· This range is based on national market data and may vary by experience and location.
