The Role

We’re looking for an Associate Director of Data Strategy to join our fast-growing Technology team here at Wpromote. In the role, you’ll help Wpromote performance marketers and their clients extract more insight and performance from their data by planning, prioritizing, and orchestrating multi-channel data and predictive analytics projects end-to-end. You’ll support a diverse portfolio of enterprise clients, and consult on a variety of data solutions unique to our clients’ Martech stack and business objectives, advancing their measurement maturity with Media Mix Modeling, incrementality testing, and predictive analytics. You’ll guide clients and client teams in building a comprehensive data model and taxonomy that can serve as an omnichannel single source of truth for marketing performance and analysis. You’ll craft data solutions in partnership with technical experts in analytics tagging and configuration, data engineering, and reporting, and data analysis to maximize data utility through our services and apps in Polaris, Wpromote’s marketing intelligence platform. You’ll manage a team of Data Strategy Managers each with their own books of business to maximize the value of Wpromote’s data services.

The anticipated annual salary for this role will range from $105,000 - $125,000, based on consideration of a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, education and certifications, competitive benchmarks, scope of responsibility, market dynamics, geographic location, and respective state’s salary threshold for exempt employees. The total compensation package for this role will include benefits (listed above) and an annual performance bonus.

This role has an associated annual target bonus component which is paid out based on a number of factors which include Company performance, department performance, and individual performance. Bonuses are not guaranteed and you must be an active employee in good standing and not on a Performance Improvement Plan to be eligible for the annual bonus.

You Will Be

    • Owning and project managing Data Strategy & Analytics tasks as needed for a portfolio of multiple clients, and tasks coming from our support queue
    • Acting as the strategic lead for end-to-end measurement solutions, partnering with technical experts in Analytics Engineering, Analytics Management, Data Engineering, Reporting Solutions, and Data Analysis 
    • Working closely with paid media buyers to support analysis of performance measurement, and utilizing measurement solutions to define methods for optimizing campaign outcomes
    • Educating, training, and leading the build-out of data taxonomy across clients for use in reporting and media planning
    • Running weekly project management sprint sessions with cross-functional technical teams on dedicated clients as needs emerge or evolve, seeing tasks through to completion efficiently to improve the overall cycle time on task completion
    • Directly communicating with clients and internal stakeholders on data needs within your portfolio or tasks coming from the support queue
    • Partnering with Data Strategy & Analytics leadership to design processes to efficiently deliver cohesive Data Strategy & Analytics services across technical teams to clients and internal stakeholders from our support queue
    • Creating new Asana task templates in partnership with Data Strategy & Analytics leaders to automate aspects of project management and productivity reporting across the team
    • Identifying new measurement needs for our clients and working with cross-departmental teams to develop new solutions that can be delivered to clients at scale 
    • Coaching up mid-level Data Strategists by reviewing deliverables to ensure quality assurance checks and best practices are in place
    • Directly manage a team of Data Strategists and lead a Pod with DSA technical specialists
    • Evaluating the performance of direct reports, providing feedback, and helping team members set and achieve performance goals
    • Acting as a senior advisor across a variety of data strategy focus areas: Customer Data Platforms, Media Strategy & Optimization Methods, Data Privacy Regulations & Data Usage Guidelines, and MarTech Architecture

You Must Have

    • 6+ years experience working in digital media and marketing environment
    • 6+ years experience working with media data
    • Strong client-facing experience at a digital media or performance marketing agency or similar environment
    • A functional understanding of marketing and advertising technology platforms including advertising (Google Ads, Meta Ads, etc.), analytics (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, etc.), tag management systems (Google Tag Manager, Tealium, Segment, etc.) and data aggregation, manipulation, and visualization (BigQuery, Funnel, Google Data Studio, Tableau, Looker, etc.)
    • Ability to collaborate with technical teams to define requirements for building data models and analytics for digital marketing by defining all the relevant KPIs and data sources, finding the best path for piping all relevant data into a database, and defining business rules for output in visualizations and advanced analysis
    • Expertise in creating and implementing data taxonomy governance best practices across multiple ad platforms
    • Strong proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, and Google Slides 
    • Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to understand the technical detail behind data utilization for digital marketing and the ability to explain it simply to non-technical audiences
    • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to work efficiently across multiple teams, clients, and timelines simultaneously
    • Experience with Customer Data Platforms such as Tealium or Segment
    • Experience with Media Strategy & Optimization Methods
    • Familiarity with Data Privacy Regulations & Data Usage Guidelines
    • Experience with MarTech Architecture

Nice to Have

    • 1+ years of people management experience, including guiding and mentoring managers to enable a high-performing team and culture
    • Experience or familiarity with statistical concepts
    • Experience or familiarity with marketing analytics including Media Mix Modeling, Multi-Touch Attribution, and Incrementality Testing
    • Experience or familiarity with Mobile Measurement Partners such as AppsFlyer or Kochava, or deploying tracking solutions within an app environment
    • Experience visualizing data to communicate analysis with stakeholders in Google Analytics, Google Data Studio, or other visualization platforms (Looker)
    • Understanding of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems such as Salesforce or Hubspot and their use in end-to-end measurement
    • Understanding of Identity Resolution platforms such as Liveramp or Experian
