What You'll Do
Develop and execute the vision and strategy for data, AI, and machine learning within the Workiva platform, ensuring alignment with the company’s broader goals
Build and lead teams of Data Engineers, Data Infrastructure Engineers, Data Architects, AI/ML Engineers, and Data Scientists
Oversee the design, architecture, development, and scaling of new data systems and platforms
Ensure seamless integration of new solutions into our existing platform and products
Collaborate with Product leadership to drive innovation, ensuring that data-driven insights are fully integrated into our platform and customer experiences
Lead Workiva’s AI/ML initiatives and guide the growth of our data strategy, ensuring alignment with our overall data platform vision
Champion the secure and ethical use of data and AI within all engineering initiatives, promoting accountability and high standards
Understand customer, business, and market needs to deliver capabilities that drive business growth
Define and monitor the health of the data ecosystem, setting up systems for complete monitoring, critical alerts, and data quality improvements
Incorporate essential nonfunctional requirements, such as data quality, governance, lifecycle management, and compliance
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability, inspiring teams to achieve excellence
Attract, develop, and retain top talent, promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion across the team
What You'll Need
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience
15+ years of experience leading engineering or technical teams, with a focus on data-driven roles
Experience working cross-functionally with product, engineering, marketing, and business leaders to deliver impactful, data-driven solutions
A strong commitment to the secure and ethical use of AI and data within engineering practices
Experience leading teams focused on data, AI/ML, and data architecture at scale within a large organization
Deep expertise in designing and scaling data platforms in a B2B SaaS environment
Experience with modern data practices, including AI, machine learning, data science, and data ecosystems
Preferred Qualifications
Proven track record of leading engineering teams through transformation, building data capabilities, and turning data insights into business value
Strategic thinker with the ability to align data and AI initiatives with broader business objectives
Strong leadership and communication skills, with a passion for inspiring teams and driving forward-thinking strategies
MBA or equivalent advanced degree
Travel Requirements & Working Conditions
Up to 25% travel
Reliable internet access for any period of time working remotely and not in a Workiva office
How You’ll Be Rewarded
✅ Salary range in the US: $227,000.00 - $300,000.00✅ A discretionary bonus typically paid annually
✅ Restricted Stock Units granted at time of hire
✅ 401(k) match and comprehensive employee benefits package
