Joining Collibra's Data Office Team:

Collibra is looking for a Data Scientist in our growing Data Office to evolve our internal data flow, analytics, and visualizations for cross-functional data products. This role will report to the Head of Data Office and will be an integral part in helping Collibra’s rapid growth and our thought leading position in data intelligence. 

This is a hands-on, roll up your sleeves position and requires a passion for data, modeling, and engineering. You are unable to shed a continued enthusiasm for new (data) technology. You communicate as well with technology as with business stakeholders. You pride yourself in creating innovative and advanced analytics data products whose insights answer critical business questions and provide prescriptive actions that influence future outcomes.

As you will build out Collibra’s enterprise data pipelines, transformations, data sets, algorithms, models, and visualization, you will leverage your experience to lead our internal data analytics into state of the art, and help data teams across Collibra drive change through data.

Data Scientists at Collibra are responsible for:

  • Create and operationalize AI/ML models, analytics, and visualizations to power actionable insights in data products
  • Build and maintain data pipelines to ensure all required data is easily consumable by your data products as well as by data teams in the business
  • Contribute to evolving our platforms for artificial intelligence, machine learning, analytics, and visualization capabilities in support of Collibra’s data products
  • Collaborate and support stakeholders (in Finance, Marketing, Product, Sales, …) to identify and plan new modeling and analytics requirements data products
  • Drinking our own champagne by applying Collibra’s Data Intelligence platform on your data products and processes, and feeding back learnings into the Product teams.

You Have:

  • 5+ years experience performing data and analytics projects related to business functions, incorporating advanced techniques (e.g. NLP, neural networks, recommendation engines, …)
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases, query authoring as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases (e.g., time series, graph, …)
  • Experience with cloud-based data infrastructures (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and big data tools (e.g., Spark, Kafka, …)
  • Experience with data pipeline and orchestration tools like Fivetran, Matillion, Airflow, …, as well as dashboarding tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Redash to tell effective stories through data
  • Programming experience with languages like Python, Scala, Java, ...

You Are:

  • Deeply technical, passionate, and analytical about the insights data can deliver
  • Process oriented as you know you can’t accelerate at scale without continuously improving processes
  • Process driven and familiar with supporting different types of stakeholders, and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment
  • A strong communicator in English, both written and oral, applying those skills for technical and business audiences in the form of documentation and requirements
  • Experienced at identifying, prioritizing, and getting buy-in for data opportunities within a large organization

Reporting to Collibra’s Head of Data Office, measures of success are:

  • Within your first month, you will…

Familiarize yourself with the existing data platform and data products by diving into the architecture, existing pipelines, and resultant analytics and dashboards. 

  • Within your third month, you will…

Identify and plan improvements to the existing data pipeline and modeling practices, implement standards and best practices for data products and pipelines, and develop new pipelines, analytics, AI/ML models, and data products in production.

  • Within your sixth month, you will…

Be popular with data teams and business stakeholders across the company as they benefit from the data pipelines you’ve built, the data they consume, the data models and visualizations they benefit from to make informed business decisions.
