The Senior Data Analyst will be part of the Data Science team within Wellmed and is responsible for defining and refining business report requirements and performing statistical analysis for machine learning and AI that address business needs. They must be able to document and develop reporting solutions. This position plays an important role in the development and implementation of business intelligence and corporate data science solutions. May also serve as a liaison between business users and IT report developers to understand reporting needs, develop requirements, and ensure data architecture is implemented to support alignment with business requirements. Analyst will partner with stakeholders to understand data requirements and develop tools and models such as segmentation, dashboards, data visualizations, decision aids and business case analysis to support the organization. Actively participates in development and support of reporting and business intelligence solutions.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Designs, develops, tests, documents and maintains database queries and reports
- Works with internal and external department customers to define and document requirements to enrich reporting capabilities
- Solves complex problems and develops innovative solutions
- Provides explanations and information to others on the most complex issues
- Develops systematic reporting processes and procedures to ensure timely delivery of daily, weekly, monthly, annual and ad hoc reporting to management
- Troubleshoots data integrity issues, analyzes data for completeness to meet business goals and trending
- Transfers data into meaningful, professional and easy to understand formats for various audiences
- Recommends and implements new or modified reporting methods and procedures to improve report content and completeness of information
- Supports complex projects that require cross functional coordination
- Coordinates and collaborates with end users, data warehouse developers, DBA’s, and the change/release manager to ensure total system quality assurance is met at all times
- Serves as a resource to staff, answering questions and assisting with department informatics, reporting and trending, and workflow/operational issues
- Escalates issues to department leadership for support and guidance
- Performs analysis by developing and executing SQL queries on various sets of data streams, inclusive of normalizing data as needed, and evaluates downstream business systems, processes, and/or organizational impacts
- Assists in the development and testing of new reports and ongoing support of existing solutions, including defect identification and resolution
- Advises on the implications of existing systems that can be applied to a reporting problem. Identifies risks and issues and seeks approval on complex matters
- Checks, instructs, and otherwise functionally directs technical staff in order to achieve desired end-results on complex problems
- Serves as subject matter expert and provides operational support to internal business partners and external business partners
- Performs all other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Information Technology or related field (4+ additional years of comparable work experience beyond the required years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a bachelor’s degree)
- 5+ years of combined experience with development and testing related to reporting and analysis
- Experience with health plan or health care administration
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Visio software applications
- Proficiency in SQL or similar programming language and developing efficient, well performing queries
- Proficiency in Tableau or similar data visualization tools
Preferred Qualifications:
- DataIku ML Practitioner and/or Advanced Designer Certification
- Azure Data Scientist Associate Certification or Azure Enterprise Data Analyst Associate Certification
- Experience in Medicare Risk Adjustment and/or HEDIS Quality
- Knowledge of Health Care Industry and/or experience in HEDIS, CAHPS/HOS and Medicare Advantage Part D (MAPD) operations
- Knowledge and or experience with reading and interpreting contracts related to Healthcare relationships
- Knowledge of ICD-10 coding requirements and regulations
