Surest is going beyond the traditional “Provider Directory” used by most health insurers. We are building a clean, innovative database of healthcare providers. Most importantly, we are curating our provider data to be consumer-centric, tailoring it to meet the needs of our members.
To build this database, Surest is looking to apply methods and data sources that are outside the industry norm. This role will play an integral part in this effort
You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Become an expert on Surest’s provider data logic and pipelines
- Collaborate with Surest’s Data Engineering teams to continually improve our provider data
- Coordinate with our colleagues at UnitedHealthcare (UHC) to deeply understand our base provider datasets
- Build and monitor time-series dashboards based on Surest’s provider data, including data on accuracy and member views
- Leverage dashboard findings to spur real-time improvements to Surest’s provider data
- Participate in internal and external communications regarding Surest’s data improvements
- Partner with internal stakeholders to identify requirements and deliver intended results

Required Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent professional experience
- 2+ years of experience in healthcare or related field
- 1+ years of experience using SQL to complete essential job duties
- 1+ years of experience making data visualizations and dashboards (e.g., Tableau, Looker)
- 1+ years of experience with domains and identifiers (ex: NPI, tax ID, place of service)
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years working healthcare administrative data (e.g. claims, enrollment, provider directory)
- 1+ years of experience with the UnitedHealthcare provider databases (e.g., NDB)
- Working knowledge of clinical data domains and code sets (CPT, ICD, DRG, etc.)
- Proven skillset to serve as a key resource for complex and critical issues
- Proven solid ability to manage multiple projects in a highly dynamic environment
- Proven excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proven exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven high attention to detail
- Proven innate curiosity to learn more

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
