As a Principal Intelligence Analyst in the Optum Financial Services Data Analytics organization you will be operationally oriented with emphasis on translating analysis into business practice. This is an intellectually challenging, and professionally rewarding role that has the potential to be high visibility and high impact depending on the candidate. This is a technical individual contributor role, as opposed to an administrative or supervisory role.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Processing and manipulation of all manner of data, with a focus on building business decision support assets, and conducting analysis to support senior leadership decision making
- Performing requirements development and solution design in a software development or systems engineering context
- While able to work independently, you will recognize the importance of communication, collaboration, and specialization
- Perform root case, descriptive, and forensic analysis for insight and systemic problem solving
- Perform risk stratification, signal detection, time series, similarity, analysis on products and user populations
- Work as a Subject Matter Expert in small teams, focused on multiple concurrent initiatives. Specifically, processing source data into data sets suitable for subsequent mathematical and statistical analysis, model development, and simulations
- Identify trends using standard statistical methods like time series analysis, uncovering hidden insights using graph analysis, deriving causation from correlation with Bayesian analysis
- Communicate complex results and findings to all levels of the organization in multiple formats and channels. This includes all aspects of Business Intelligence, data visualization, leadership briefings, and written papers

Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of Software Development experience in one or more of the following languages: Python, R, JavaScript, C++, DAX, .Net VBA
- 7+ years of experience in one or more of the following BI and Reporting Tools: MS Power BI, Tableau, SSRS
- 5+ years of experience in data processing and automation platforms e.g., Data Bricks, Snowflake, Apache Spark, NextGen Mirth Connect, or equivalent
- 5+ years of query writing in SQL, GraphQL, or similar query language
- 3+ years of experience in Process Improvement techniques and Quality frameworks
Preferred Qualifications
- Healthcare or Life Sciences experience
- Contact Center experience
- Card processing experience
- Statistical analysis in a financial or bank/card domain
- Modeling and Simulation experience (e.g. dynamic flow modeling, multi-variate analytics)
- Served as a Principle Investigator or Lead Researcher/Analyst/Engineer on data-driven initiatives

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
