Our team specializes in developing and supporting cutting-edge analytics solutions for the Optum Payment Integrity Platform. We leverage the latest technologies in cloud computing to deliver business intelligence solutions to our commercial clients, helping them achieve significant cost savings and improved fraud/abuse detection. In this role, you will play a key part in driving innovation by creating novel analytic solutions, enhancing existing capabilities, managing data pipelines and migrating legacy systems to cloud. Primary Responsibilities:
- Design, code, test, document, and maintain high-quality and scalable Big Data, Cloud solutions
- Design and architect data solutions to suit client product needs. Develop and implement analytic solutions
- Research, evaluate, and deploy new tools, frameworks, and patterns to build sustainable data pipelines
- Identify gaps and opportunities for improvement on existing solutions
- Implement large Data warehouse solutions in Cloud
- Analyze and define customer requirements and build products specific to client needs
- Work on architecting solutions for analytic platforms while partnering with cross functional teams
- Make accurate development effort estimates to assist management in project and resource planning
- Create prototypes, proof-of-concepts. Conduct code reviews and design sessions with developers
- Write technical documentation and participate in production support
- Coach and mentor junior engineers
- Keep skills up to date through ongoing self-directed training

Required Qualifications:
- 12+ years of IT-related work experience
- 8+ years of experience in hands-on software development
- 3+ years of experience in Azure cloud platform
- 3+ years of experience in development using Python, Spark
- 3+ years of experience in using tools like Databricks, Snowflake, python, pyspark, AKS
- 2+ years of experience in MySQL and NoSQL databases
- 2+ years of experience in tools such as Airflow, CI/CD using Jenkins
- Experience with containerization and performance tuning in Data Pipelines
Preferred Qualifications:
- Python, PySpark, Snowflake & Databricks experience
- Solution Architecting experience
- Proven excellent analysis, process, problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to change and adapt quickly, mentoring and leading other engineers from a technical capacity
- Excellent team player

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
