We are introducing multiple products that provide merchants with the tools and insights to create optimal shopper experiences to drive their business growth. 

We are building and extending our data platform capabilities for both internal business and external users.  We are looking for a hands-on technical leader who is outcome, value driven, and passionate about building a mature state of the art data platform leveraging modern cloud-base technology stack efficiently. 

As the Manager of Data Engineering, you will have an unique opportunity to build the foundation, influence SaaS tool direction, and also exercise design and development skill building the scalable data products and platform capabilities. 

What you’ll do

• Collaborate with product management and product engineering, creating dimensional data models and building data pipeline

• Lead and manage the execution of product development lifecycle with quality and delivery predictability with adoption of Agile methodology

• Author the technical design, implementation, and other engineering artifacts driving execution precision

• Provide hands-on technical support to BI and data engineers building platform capability and data products

• Provide technical guidance and establish engineering excellence standards and best practices to scale the platform operation 

• Provide technical mentorship and partner with data engineers to elevate their engineering excellence latitude in quality, scalability as well as delivery predictability, and velocity

• Conduct technology evaluation and generate proposals for a defined problem or opportunity

• Navigate effectively in a start-up culture effectively dealing with ambiguity, and resourceful in connecting dots across the Recharge organizational and technical ecosystems

• Exercise influence that matures Recharge’s data driven culture including source system data designs practices, data talks series, demos, etc

What you'll bring

• 5+ years experience in combination in the technical lead and/or technical manager capacity for the team of 6+ engineers
• Expert in dimensional modeling, SQL, and technique on end-to-end data pipeline optimization
• Expect in transactional data modeling as well as data and event instrumentation and collection

• 8+ years of hands-on, development experience in the data engineering with preferred eCommerce experience

• 3+ years hands-on development experience in cloud-based data infrastructure system and tools including Google Cloud System, snowflake, dbt,  airflow, and fivetrans

• 5+ years development experience in Python

• Preferred experience in looker architecture and development experience

• Proven records of delivering external-facing data products and capabilities from the ground up

• Proven experience leading cross functional teams to ensure the Product’s impact is felt throughout the business (Marketing, Customer Success, Sales, Finance)

• Expert in agile methodology and experience leverage Jira and confluence for engineering excellence
