Optum Infusion Services is seeking a Healthcare Data Scientist with extensive experience in predictive modeling, statistical modeling, and machine learning. This role will lead Optum Infusion’s data science projects and be responsible for developing and implementing advanced analytical solutions to improve patient outcomes, optimize infusion operations, and identify growth opportunities.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead the implementation of predictive models using advanced statistical modeling, machine learning, and deep learning techniques to improve patient outcomes, operations, and organizational growth
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including clinicians, researchers, and business stakeholders, to design and deliver data-driven solutions that address complex infusion therapy challenges
- Lead the development of innovative machine learning algorithms that solve complex problems in the infusion industry, including natural language processing and deep learning models
- Oversee the data science team’s data preparation, cleansing, and feature engineering activities to ensure data quality and relevance for predictive modeling activities
- Evaluate models’ performance, identify improvement areas, and lead efforts to optimize model accuracy and effectiveness
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advances in predictive modeling, statistical modeling, and machine learning techniques and recommend and implement new approaches to address evolving infusion therapy challenges
- Ensure that data governance, privacy, and security policies and regulations are followed throughout the data science process

Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in predictive modeling, statistical modeling, and machine learning in a healthcare-related field
- Experience leading data science teams, including the ability to mentor and develop junior data scientists
- Proven experience developing and implementing predictive models using advanced analytical techniques such as logistic regression, random forest, neural networks, and deep learning
- Experience with healthcare or pharmacy industry regulations, policies, and best practices
- Expertise in machine learning libraries such as Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch
- Solid programming skills in Python, R, or similar languages
- Proven excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Demonstrated robust problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and solve complex problems using advanced analytical techniques
Preferred Qualification:
- A Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field
