Change Healthcare's AI & data science team is looking for PhD interns to join our team and work on some challenging projects. These projects include but are not limited to, document processing, image processing, clinical decision support, responsible AI, and predictive analytics. The ideal candidates should have solid problem-solving and analytical capabilities. The ideal candidate should be very detail-oriented and is able to deliver high-quality work.
You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Given a business problem, design and propose solution architectures and potential algorithms
- Use data and business requirements to justify the design
- Implement the solution by training AI/ML models or implementing needed logic
- Provide performance measures and analysis to illustrate the pros/cons of the design and implementation
- Present the solution and performance to the customers

Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a PhD program with a concentration in computer science, electrical engineering, data science, mathematics, statistics, and other engineering & science disciplines
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimum instructions
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate with team members
- Demonstrated ability to be a fast learner and is able to adapt to changing requirements
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without any restrictions (Consideration may be give given to F-1 students with practical training.)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of Machine learning & AI
- Developed coding skills with Python, SQL, and or other scripting languages
- Proven capable of handling large data manipulation & analysis
- Proven comfort talking with people with both technical and non-technical background
