About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced analytics leader to drive Dandy’s data analytics strategy, scale the data analytics team rapidly, guide ever-tighter partnership with business stakeholders, raise the standards of the team and every team member on a daily basis, and ultimately play a major role in Dandy’s success as a company.

This function (and all of our team members) works from bottom to top – from ensuring clean and complete raw data all the way to deep dive analysis and communicating key findings to company leadership. Our analytics leader must be a leader across all of these levels.

Dandy’s data team is setting new standards for the data industry. The data team also plays a strong role within the company, taking ownership of strategic business projects that might be considered out of scope in most other companies. Dandy Data requires a leader with strong interest in driving forward the business as a whole.

While Dandy is growing in size quickly, we need someone who will bring the best parts of the startup mentality every day.

Responsibilities

• Use data to drive all functions of Dandy at the highest strategic levels
• Build strong cross-functional relationships with stakeholder leadership
• Grow and scale team, guiding the transition to a more embedded model
• Build organizational processes and structure for scale including recruiting, new hire onboarding, team operating rhythm, and people programs
• Develop the individuals on the team
• On Dandy Data, we believe it is very possible to align individuals’ aspirations with those of the company
• Dimensions of growth are: analytic, technical, communications and presentation, organizational dexterity, management
• Partner with data squads and stakeholders to set long term vision and nearer term strategy
• When sensible, drive team+company adoption of the most advanced tools and datasets available 
• Drive forward data team work on a tactical level, getting into the weeds on some projects
• Be a company leader beyond data work where relevant
• Drive best practices at all levels of the team’s work; cement Dandy’s place as a data industry leader
• Bring a startup mentality every day
• Partner with platform engineering teams (and data infrastructure team) to build strong processes around data modeling, data collection, and data security, and data infrastructure 

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in the analytics team management roles
• Experience with managing a large data analytics team that covers similar functions as Dandy’s, ideally had experience with founding and scaling and analytics team at a relevant startup
• Strong SQL skills and technical skills generally
• Proven experience influencing strategy and driving change across org boundaries through clear and compelling communication of data-driven insights and analyses (Engineering, Product, Ops, Sales, etc.)
• Experience with driving analytics and research for a brand-new or rapidly scaling business or product line
• Strong analytic acumen across a spectrum of business functions
• Strong SQL skills and technical skills generally
• Strong communications and presentation skills; ability to coach team members to successfully present to company executives
• Demonstrated ability to grow a data function with high speed and standards (including hiring)
• Experience with a relevant data tech stack
• Track record of raising the bar in infrastructure/tooling and team process
• Familiarity with the ideas of tools used by stakeholders 
• Demonstrated ability to “make stuff happen”
• A track record of building trust across the organization - those around you, below you, and above you trust you

Nice to Have

• Experience with Looker, dbt, and other relevant elements of our stack
• A quantitative/technical degree
• Data infrastructure management/strategy experience in some form
• Experience at a hyper-growth startup
• Basic data science (Machine Learning) experience
