Works under the guidance of the Fraud Data and Business Intelligence Lead, this role is the subject matter expert who performs code programming for data extraction to support Fraud Services. This individual will play an active role in assisting in active fraud incidents. The business intelligence associate will also focus on Operational KPI, Risk KRI development and oversight; support Internal Fraud Program build out. With close connectivity to all members of the fraud strategy team, Fraud Operations, and Risk, they will work expediently to analyze the situation while presenting options for next steps. This role is responsible for providing reporting, advising on next steps, and driving stakeholder engagement across all elements. Will serve in a consultative role providing guidance on best practices and procedures.

  • Working knowledge of industry fraud tools and creation/support of KRI and KPI development
  • Demonstrated knowledge of internal fraud program creation
  • Demonstrated capability with at least one or more analytics products with demonstrated skill to build complex queries into big data environments using approved low impact to technology environment tools
  • Deep Analytical tool experience such as Google Cloud, SAS and Python.

Essential Job Functions:

  • A key part of the role will be regularly providing active and guiding consultation to business leaders and other stakeholders on best methods of leveraging analytics and fraud strategies to reduce losses while maintaining a world class customer experience for active customers using our various channels at KeyBank
  • Perform sophisticated data analyses and strategy support using advanced analytics & data science tools to provide actionable insights and real-time changes to fraud detection tools that improve business outcomes and minimize fraud risk.
  • The strategist defines and measures through insight and statistical analysis existing and future mitigation opportunities as part of the decision and development process
  • Proven capability to build / develop new business intelligence type tools for use in fraud detection or recovery from inception using fraud and/or fraud intelligence

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and four or more years of experience in a quantitative field such as Finance, Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, or Engineering, or equivalent education and related training.
  • Excellent partnership, influence, and collaboration skills to successfully engage across a matrix organization
  • Project delivery skills to ensure enhancements to the fraud strategy program are delivered
  • Assist in developing reporting and metrics to measure performance and effectiveness of operational processes
  • Be an analytical thinker who is process oriented, with demonstrated problem-solving and analysis skills with attention to detail
  • Be a highly motivated professional with excellent decision-making skills
  • Have experience working with and handling sensitive materials 
  • Have a propensity for action and a drive to get things done
  • Be able to work both independently and as a part of a team
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated capability with at least one or more analytics products with demonstrated skill to build complex queries into big data environments using approved low impact to technology environment tools
  • Deep Analytical tool experience (tools such as Google Cloud, SAS and Python preferred)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior Fraud Strategy and/or Link Analysis experience is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of industry fraud tools and creation/support of KRI and KPI development
  • Demonstrated knowledge of internal fraud program creation

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $65,000.00 to $90,000.00 annually depending on job-related factors such as level of experience. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for short-term incentive compensation and deferred incentive compensation subject to individual and company performance.
