The Product Analytics team is looking for a leader to drive measurement of strategic projects and maintain a macro view of core business trends. This role is critical to deepening our understanding of customer behavior, ensuring the proper monitoring is in place, and helping to explain the drivers of performance in the business. This individual will lead a team that applies data science techniques to develop a deep understanding of our business and work cross functionally with senior leadership, product management, engineering, marketing, and analytics.
As a leader on the Product Analytics team, you’ll use your quantitative background and expertise manipulating large datasets to bring unparalleled insights into user behavior and site performance. We tackle a multitude of exciting challenges including behavioral measurement, A/B testing, model development, and ongoing tracking of our business progress to enable Upwork’s growth. Your Responsibilities:
- Build and lead a team that creates quantitative analysis to provide insights on business performance and the user behaviors that are driving that.
- Participate and present in our leadership team Weekly Business Reviews. Own action items and exploratory analysis that comes from those.
- Work closely with our Product & Experience, Engineering, and various business teams to ensure the right dashboards and monitoring are in place to democratize data across the company.
- Maintain high standards for the analysts on your team. Mentor and develop them through code reviews and stretch projects.
- Tackle complex problems inherent to a double-sided marketplace. Deliver insights that drive changes in product strategy.
What it takes to catch our eye:
- A strong track record of hiring and leading successful analytics teams.
- Structured and data-driven problem solving skills.
- Ability to go deep on analytical exploration and uplevel it to a strategic conversation.
- Ability to write efficient and robust SQL code.
- Proficiency in Looker.
- Previous experience in a marketplace or e-commerce business.
