Mission
We are looking for a Director to build our Usage Analytics team in the FP&A organization as Databricks experiences growth at scale. Our team helps create deeper insights into our business and support the leadership team with greater visibility, predictability, and accountability to help Databricks to invest for long-term growth. You will focus on developing an understanding of customer usage to guide improved decision-making and visibility around our performance.
Outcomes
- Develop an understanding of Databricks' business model and how our customers use our products
- Produce executive-friendly reporting to distill/synthesize trends across segments, products, features, and cloud platforms to understand customer behavior and inform decision-making on customer programs and investments
- Build relationships with partners in the Data, Commercialization, and Sales teams
- Collaborate with our Data team to build new forecasting models and improve existing models through new features to guide deeper business insights
- Partner with our Commercialization and Product Finance teams to understand and help forecast the impact of new product introductions and promotions on customer usage
- Work with our Sales teams to understand how customer use cases will affect future usage
- Partner with Sales Strategy to build models to inform target setting and quotas
Competencies
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or comparable quantitative field
- 10+ years of FP&A, Investment Banking, or Management Consulting experience with a focus on technology; familiarity with the software industry (and SaaS)
- Financial modeling skills and quantitative analysis abilities
- Expert in Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets); comfortable with different modeling techniques and shortcuts
- Experience with SQL
- Experience working with Data Science teams a plus
