Galileo is looking for an experienced Director of Engineering to lead our growing data & platform teams. In this role, you can see yourself as a tech advisor, and someone who will help to find gaps within our current platform and ensure we have the roadmap in place for future scale. You’ll lead cross functional teams of engineers to expand our reach in bringing high-quality primary care to growing patient populations.

Here’s what you’ll do:

• Drive a high-performance culture within your team that can iterate and learn continuously without sacrificing quality.
• Hire, grow, and build out the data and platform teams. 
• Collaborate with stakeholders to build high performance, scalable, and secure data pipelines. 
• Collaborate with the team to build out platform tooling and create well-designed services. 
• Define and maintain processes to ensure the quality of our products for a growing engineering organization. 
• Set goals for team members; evaluating performance; providing coaching and facilitating professional development.
• Providing technical leadership — best practices, testing, performance, reliability.

We’d love to hear from you if the following describes you:

• Cloud experience is required
• Experience with a variety of architecture patterns, including service-oriented/microservice designs.
• Experience with modern programming languages, including typed languages. (We use mainly Python and Typescript.) 
• Led cross functional engineering teams to increase the quality and velocity of our software development process
• Experience providing feedback, coaching, mentoring and facilitating career growth of team members
• Experience building collaborative teams that understand the needs of their users 
• Skilled at communication around technical concepts and ideas and the ability to collaborate with all parts of the organization
• Experience with end-to-end quality best practices and their implementation
