What You’ll Do as a Director of Data Science is you will manage a team, provide guidance and feedback, and grow a data team to meet goals and exceed goals set by you. Working closely with data engineering, systems engineering, and product management to productize data science solutions built by you and the data science team. 

What we're looking for

• Curious and experimental mindset
• Relentless drive to source and discover data sets that can help produce value
• Down to earth and realistic about what makes sense for data science to solve vs classic programming methods
• Ability to discover areas of opportunity where data science lends a big advantage
• Deep understanding of statistics and classical ML methods such as neural nets, NLP, reinforcement learning, clustering, and classification
• The tendency towards even-keeled decision making and guidance managing team members
• Hands-on experience with one or more of Python, R, Julia, or similar
• Solid SQL skills

Requirements

• 6+ years of hands-on machine learning experience building and deploying solutions
• 2+ years of managing other data scientists, analysts, and/or engineers
• BS or MS in Science, Math, Economics or Engineering related field
• Live in and eligible to work in the USA
