Recharge is positioned to be the best Direct-To-Consumer ecommerce brand in the world. We are introducing multiple products that provide merchants with the tools and insights to create optimal shopper experiences to drive their business growth.
At the core of our new products and scaling internal business decision making framework, we are building and scaling Recharge’s BI and data platform capability for product experience and business insight. We are looking for a seasoned technology leader who is outcome, value driven, and passionate about leading and building a mature state of the art data platform leveraging modern cloud-base technology stack efficiently.
As the Head of Business Intelligence and Data Engineering, the candidate will have an unique opportunity not only to set technology and SaaS tool direction but also introduce standards, best practices that is bedrock to sustainable engineering excellence and scale of the modern data platform.
What you’ll do
- Live by and champion our values: #day-one, #ownership, #empathy, #humility
- Provide hands-on leadership support to BI and data engineers building Recharge’s first enterprise data warehouse that is on-time, with quality, and best user experience
- Provide technical guidance and establish engineering excellence standards and best practices to scale the platform operation and cultivate Recharge’s values, Day-one, empathy, customer focus, and ownership
- Exercise business acutement, partner with VP of Data, product analyst, and internal stakeholders to define data product capability and experience for implementation
- Responsible for all aspects of product development as initiative owner setting execution strategy and detail plan achieving our goal.
- Support the team with hand-ons approach that not only set the example but also elevate team members’ technology knowledge and career growth
- Navigate effectively in start-up culture with proactive outreaching in order to define system integration touch-points that allow the team to deliver the best data user experience and it is streamline for sustainable operation
- Exercise influence that matures Recharge’s data driven culture including source system data designs practices, data talks series, demos, etc.
- Provide mentorship and partner with team members to achieve their career aspiration.
What you'll bring
- 15+ years of combined experience in data and eCommerce product engineering under various capabilities
- 2+ years of looker architecture and development experience
- Proven records of delivering Day-one data strategy in the fortune 500 company or company with 400+ data maturity level of 1 or 2.
- Hand-on ability in cloud-based data infrastructure, BI and data processing tools including snowlake, dbt, airflow, and Python.
- Well versed in various capabilities of the modern data ecosystem including user behavior infrastructure and analytics, dimensional modeling, data quality and reliability management, data and event instrumentation and collection.
- Proven experience leading cross functional teams to ensure the Product’s impact is felt throughout the business (Marketing, Customer Success, Sales, Finance)
- Expert in agile methodology and experience leverage Jira and confluence for engineering excellence.
- Expert in Business Intelligence and data visualization, including tools like Looker, Tableau, etc
- Consistently navigates ambiguous technical and business requirements while making flexible technical decisions
- Consistently delivers technically challenging tasks efficiently with quality, speed, and simplicity
- Payments and/or Ecommerce experience is a must.
