Job Summary:
The Director, Analytics Solutions is responsible for direction, design and implementation of data solutions, including data warehouse/data marts and business intelligence solutions, that support and enable analysis within the Analytics and Finance departments.
Essential Functions:
- Direct and oversee end-to-end data solutions supporting multiple areas of analytics and finance
- Lead a cross-functional group of data analysts, engineering, and data architecture resources focused on creating easy-to-use and always accurate data subject areas for key indicators of health plan performance. Example subject areas include sources of truth for member months, incurred medical expense, health-care utilization, provider unit cost, and population acuity
- Develop ongoing data validation and data quality practices to reconcile key performance indicators to systems of record to create reliable and trusted sources of truth for medical economics, market finance, and actuarial sciences functions
- Develop a data strategy and roadmap to deliver an analytics data warehouse/data mart which enables rapid analytics and business insight
- Collaborate with Information Technology and other departments to deliver data solutions
- Develop and drive an Analytics Business Intelligence strategy in collaboration with other directors
- Collaborate with Finance and IT teams to extract and model data from enterprise financial systems / sources of truth, creating final target data objects that are easily consumable for analyst resources within an Azure Databricks environment
- Employ best-practice software development/solution development processes
- Support data extract needs for external vendors and third-party contractors
- Prioritize and translate business requirements into new/enhanced data solutions or services
- Facilitate sessions with cross-functional stakeholders to understand and define business requirements, business rules, technical requirements, and data flows/integration constructs
- Hire, train, develop and appraise staff effectively, ensuring a strong, competent and talented team of high integrity professionals, as well as development and adherence to departmental budget
- Perform any other job duties as requested
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Computer Science a related field or equivalent years of relevant work experience is required
- Minimum of five (5) years of programming, analysis and specification experience required
- Four (4) years management experience required
- Three (3) years of healthcare experience required
Competencies, Knowledge and Skills:
- Microsoft Power BI or Tableaux proficiency required
- Microsoft Azure and Databricks knowledge preferred
- Solid understanding of best practices, data modeling/architectural patterns, and governance methodologies
- Demonstrated understanding of Business Intelligence/Data Visualization design principles and best practices
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications
- Possess very broad IT and Management knowledge
- Project planning and management skills
- Ability to manage concurrent projects with aggressive due dates
- Application programming, analysis and specification knowledge
- Skilled with multiple programming languages such as SQL, R, Python, Scala, etc.
- Data warehouse development expertise
- Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills to properly evaluate and interpret cross-functional requirements
- Skilled with Microsoft Office products

Compensation Range:
$130,300.00 - $228,100.00 CareSource takes into consideration a combination of a candidate’s education, training, and experience as well as the position’s scope and complexity, the discretion and latitude required for the role, and other external and internal data when establishing a salary level.
