The Opportunity at Komodo Health

Komodo is building a best-in-class healthcare data architecture covering hundreds of millions of patients through tens of billions of transactions. The goal of the Data Product team is to develop the data platform that will provide our customers with the most comprehensive view into the US healthcare system.

The Senior Data Product Manager will lead product development for one or multiple of Komodo’s core data objects. In this role, you will engage in user and market research, define the longer-term product strategy and roadmap, oversee sprint planning and development, and ensure the on-time delivery of high-quality data products. You will work closely with both internal and external customers to define requirements, and you will provide support to data engineers and data scientists in building robust, scalable data pipelines. Finally, as a senior member of the team you will provide management and mentorship to junior team members.

Looking back on your first 12 months at Komodo Health, you will have…

  • Led exploration to deeply understand our customer’s use cases and how Komodo is uniquely positioned to deliver solutions
  • Conducted deep data analysis to understand opportunities for novel applications of our data products
  • Defined the vision and product strategy for one or more of our core data product offerings
  • Worked with stakeholders to understand priorities and translated those to a measurable, actionable product roadmap
  • Gathered feedback from customers and internal users to maintain an actionable product backlog
  • Launched and iterated on one or more core data products
  • Collaborated with data engineering and data science to implement robust and scalable data pipelines
  • Helped to mentor and manage more junior team members

What you bring to Komodo Health:

  • Experience conducting analyses using one or more of the major commercially-available claims-based healthcare data products
  • Deep data fluency, comfortable working with data scientists and engineers to define and scope data products
  • Background in data modeling with an understanding of the complexities of data normalization, standardization, and redundancy management
  • A comfort with data analysis tools / creating SQL queries to conduct analysis
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, with ability to bring clarity to complexity and communicate customer needs, architectural requirements, and product goals across cross-functional teams
  • Proven ability to ruthlessly prioritize between what we could do vs what we should do

Additional skills and experience we’d prioritize (nice to have)…

  • Familiarity with life sciences, payer, and provider healthcare users, their priorities, and data and analytics needs
  • Prior experience as a product manager, with experience in a data-focused role at a B2B technology/software company
  • Experience working in agile / scrum teams with engineering to ship features and products
  • Experience as a leader with proven ability to collaborate and influence others in a highly cross-matrixed environment
  • Understanding of the third party payment system in the United States and how this system affects the claims data a strong plus but not required
