Our team is rapidly growing and looking for an experienced Data Engineer to support our customer and join our passionate team of high-impact problem solvers. We enjoy the challenges of human-centered design, security, and scale to create better outcomes for our federal agency partners. We are a remote-first and work completely in the open source.

About the role:

As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for building and maintaining extract, transform, load (ETL) pipelines to enable comprehensive data operations, from ingest to query. You will use your in-depth understanding of data architecture, database management, and data processing workflows, ensuring efficient and secure handling of our data resources. 

What we are looking for: 

• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in data engineering and fluent in SQL, Python and/or Javascript
• Ability to advise on and build data models that fit programmatic and operational needs, combining various datasets, enhancing transactional data as relevant
• Experience defining and running sustainable data cleaning and quality testing pipelines
• Ability to advise on and develop APIs
• A willingness to learn and implement software development best practices
• Obtain Security+ within the first 90 days of employment with Raft
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field

Highly preferred:

• Proven track record of working independently and overseeing projects with multiple stakeholders
• Multiple years of data engineering and data architecture experience in industry settings

Clearance Requirements:

• Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust security clearance
