What we are looking for/Responsibilities

We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our Applied Data Engineering team. The Applied Data Engineering team at Civis engages with our flagship customers to implement critical data warehouses within the Civis Platform. Data engineers architect and build data pipelines, optimize data storage performance, and report data quality and diagnostics information to end users.

Required Qualifications

• 1-2+ years of experience as a software engineer, data engineer, or similar role
• Experience in Python
• Experience in SQL
• Experience building and maintaining complex ETL processes
• Experience with git or other version control
• Love of problem-solving and a demonstrable ability to self-start
• Exemplification of an eagerness to constantly learn and teach others
• US work authorization

Preferred Qualifications

• Significant experience with any of the following:
• JavaScript, Ruby, and/or Go
• Apache Spark or other analytics manager
• Apache Airflow or other workflow management software
• Database design and optimization
• Automated software testing and Continuous Integration
• Amazon Web Services (AWS), GCP, or Azure cloud experience
