Job Description

We’re seeking a talented and motivated full-time Analytics Engineer to join our team. We’re looking for a key member of the team to own Data and Analytics to power the rest of the company and institute our data culture. You’ll help analysts and internal teams across the business make decisions using data and visualizations. The ability to think on one’s feet, enjoy collaborating with highly technical teams, and be comfortable working asynchronously is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Architect and manage our production data models in Snowflake and dbt, and how they are consumed by internal teams in Looker and Grafana.
  • Leverage our currently deployed analytics toolsets to get internal teams the answers they need, and select and deploy additional tools to help extract insight from our data where we don’t yet have the necessary capabilities.
  • Develop scalable data models that allow us to quickly analyze changes in the business metrics like signup rate or conversions, working directly with the C-Suite.
  • Manage transformations of data, such as normalizing data to allow analysis. Define quality standards of the data and minimum acceptance criteria for the data sources.
  • Assist in the study of product-led growth metrics, including user acquisition, activation and retention, by developing data strategies to provide these insights.
  • Add metrics to the underlying systems and code to get better visibility. We use Rudderstack and several bespoke pipelines for the ingestion of data.

Requirements:

  • A great deal of experience as a Analytics Engineer working with analysts, which should include significant data warehousing, data integration, Extract/Transform/Load, or analytics pipelines.
  • Knowledge of SQL including schema design, query optimization, and migration of data to new schemas over time.
  • Knowledge of widely used tools like Snowflake and dbt.
  • Comfort owning this part of the service. We’ve got a good start but need someone who can take ownership and drive it forward.
  • Ability to give and process constructive feedback, as well as work independently.
  • Ability to communicate openly, supporting and championing innovation and inclusivity.
  • Flexibility to adjust to the dynamic nature of a startup.

For this position, our target salary range is $145,000 - $265,000 USD (paid in your local currency). As a company, we strive to maintain fair and equitable compensation practices within our team across all roles and all levels.
