About the Role

Abnormal Security is looking for an ambitious and growth-minded Senior Product Designer to drive innovation for our newest Behavioral Security Product (BESP) lines.

The Behavioral Security Products team runs the Account Takeover Protection, Security Posture Management & Knowledge Bases, which protect our customers’ cloud environments through behavioral event detection & configuration monitoring. We are looking for a senior/lead member to join our team, who’ll work alongside seasoned engineers to build the interface our customers use to interact with Abnormal. 

As the Analytics Engineer, you will play a critical role in defining, implementing, and monitoring metrics that drive the performance and effectiveness of our Product Division and Standing Team(s). Your expertise in data analysis and metrics management will ensure that our teams are aligned with our strategic goals and are consistently delivering high-quality results. You will be responsible for the end-to-end metrics program, from defining stable and effective metrics to conducting regular inspections to ensure adherence and quality.

What you will do

  • Metrics Program Management: Develop and oversee the metrics program for Divisions and Standing Teams, ensuring that metrics are defined, implemented, and monitored effectively.
  • Metrics Definition Process: Lead the process of defining metrics for teams, ensuring that they are stable, effective, and aligned with our strategic objectives.
  • Metrics Inspection Process: Conduct regular inspections of metrics at all levels (Standing Team, Product Division, R&D) to ensure consistency, accuracy, and effectiveness.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze data and provide insights to support decision-making and continuous improvement within R&D teams.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with R&D leadership, Product Division heads, and Standing Team leads to ensure that metrics are understood, adopted, and utilized effectively.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve the metrics definition and inspection processes to enhance their relevance and impact.
  • Training and Support: Provide training and support to teams in understanding and utilizing metrics effectively.

Key Metric for the Role:

  • Percentage of Standing Teams using a consistent metrics process.
  • Hygiene of the metrics and the process adopted at the team level.

Must Haves

  • 5+ years experience as a Data Analyst, preferably in a technology or R&D-focused environment
  • Strong understanding of metrics development, data analysis, and reporting
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with SQL, and data visualization tools and techniques
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse teams
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment
