The Who, What, Why and Where

We are building and powering the fastest growing $1B company in Silicon Valley and passionate about running a scalable strategy and analytics team! Twilio seeks an Analyst to build out our predictive analytics capabilities for the marketing organization.

The Twilio team is building additional muscle in the analysis and acceleration of our web performance. Focusing on our digital properties, and how they can supercharge business outcomes for Twilio, this person will fuel our continued growth by analyzing historical data, embracing marketing science, measuring outcomes, and recommending improvements across our marketing channels. For anyone who wants to pursue a career learning about marketing efficiency and optimization, this is an excellent chance to learn alongside a team that knows their stuff.

The right candidate has a mix of technical skills, eye for business and analytical skills to identify and analyze ambiguous problems in a fast-paced environment.

Who?

Twilio is looking for an analyst who lives the Twilio Magic and has a consistent record of high performance within web analytics. We are looking for someone with the following characteristics:

  • You have a passion for predictive analytics, and how it translates to business outcomes through the marketing and sales funnel across products, regions, content, and channels
  • You are eager to identify high-propensity segments and improve the predictability of our critical marketing metrics, through development of models and advanced statistical techniques
  • You have strong analytical and critical thinking skills as well as familiarity with large data sets and data manipulation tools; proficiency in SQL/Python and BI reporting tools (e.g. Tableau, Looker)
  • You can structure and conduct analyses to generate insight and recommendations
  • You are able to bridge the gap between data analytics and business outcomes. You use context, experience, and (critically) your natural curiosity to get to the “whys” underneath the trends we see in our site performance
  • You have 1-2 years of experience with analytical thinking and a knowledge of marketing strategies to drive quality traffic

What?

As an Analyst, you will live the Twilio Magic values:

  • BE AN OWNER: Understand the metrics and build a daily regimen to review trends and customer journeys. Dive into the details and find the patterns that will allow us to drive better forecasting
  • BE BOLD: Deliver insights that are executive-friendly and be proactive in sharing across our GTM and finance teams to advise investment decisions.
  • RUTHLESSLY PRIORITIZE: Be able to manage dynamic requests by keeping critical objectives in mind; help ensure that we’re focused on the right outcomes
  • WEAR THE CUSTOMER'S SHOES: Demonstrate strong intellectual curiosity to partner with the business to understand needs, ratify against our priorities, and build trust with execution.
  • WRITE IT DOWN: Document what you do to empower partners to find their own answers and improve knowledge and understanding of our metrics.
  • DRAW THE OWL: Be a builder. Use marketing visualization tools (Tableau, Looker) and dive into mountains of data (SQL, Python) to assess our current marketing motions and experiments for effectiveness. Build and improve predictive models (e.g. predict user propensity to accelerate through the funnel)
