About the team

The Algorithm Enablement team at Stitch Fix is a small, nimble group of data platform engineers who contribute toward a set of APIs, systems and platforms to help unlock critical algorithmic capabilities, as well as self-service platforms and tools to facilitate scalable research & development for our data scientists.  We are driven by the elegance of beautiful abstractions that scale and age well, and by helping our colleagues run production algorithms with less friction, which ultimately increases the velocity at which the business can progress.

About the role

We are looking for a data platform intern to join our algorithm development team over the summer for a 10 week duration. As an intern, you will learn and contribute to our long term platform as you gain experience as a data platform engineer. You will work closely with other engineers and data scientists on some interesting projects as well as learn and experience scalable production systems and their challenges.

• You are a student in a quantitative field, such as Computer Science, Engineering, Machine Learning, etc.
• You code in Python and/or Java/Scala.
• You are experienced with SQL & modeling relational tables.
• You are naturally curious and get excited to dig in and understand how things work.
• You have a creative, problem-solving mindset
• You work well with others and have strong communication skills
