Working at Atlassian
Atlassian can hire people in any country where we have a legal entity. Assuming you have eligible working rights and a sufficient time zone overlap with your team, you can choose to work remotely or return to an office as they reopen (unless it’s necessary for your role to be performed in the office). Interviews and onboarding are conducted virtually, a part of being a distributed-first company.

Our products are revolutionizing the software industry and helping teams collaborate and craft the magic that delivers their best work. Think NASA launching the Rover on Mars or Cochlear gifting those born deaf with the ability to hear, your work directly impacts the products they use to advance humanity!
We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join our Product Data Science team. We're seeking someone with strong business instincts, creativity and analytics mastery, who is passionate about applying these skills to drive smarter product strategy and ultimately, delight our customers. You will partner with our Work Management leadership team (includes products Confluence and Trello) informing their strategies with data and insight as they define Atlassian's place in defining the future of work for all types of teams (beyond software and IT teams, our key markets). If you are looking to make a big impact, partner closely with senior product leadership, and take your career to the next level, we encourage you to join us in this exciting journey!
In this role, you'll get to:
- Partner directly with product leadership on building strategies and product roadmaps for our Work Management offerings.

- Be part of building an outstanding analytics culture at Atlassian. Leading by example, through education and the creation of self-service tools, to make a lasting change in how your partners use data to make decisions.
On your first day, we'll expect you to have:
- 5+ years of experience in applying your analytics skills to projects which have had a positive impact on company-level business and product decisions.
- A passion and talent for product and business strategy. Being comfortable with open-ended questions and ambiguity.

- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment, build strong, influential cross-team and cross-functional partnerships

- Proficiency in at least one visualization tool (e.g. Tableau, R-Shiny).
- Experience in using statistics as part of your role (e.g. regressions, A/B tests, causal inference).
It's great, but not required of you to have:

- Experience in product analytics, customer analytics or other analytics function within a tech company.
- Experience working in a global environment with remote teams.
- Experience across a broad set of statistical and machine learning methods to build descriptive and predictive models.
