As a tech-enabled disruptor in the hospitality industry, data is the backbone of how Evolve is fundamentally changing guest interaction with vacation rentals and homeowners ability to maximize rental income. Evolve’s Data & Analytics Engineering team is focused on enabling the company to innovate and make data informed decisions at scale by ensuring data is a trusted and valued asset available to all levels of the organization for innovation, visualization, analytics, reporting, data hygiene, and data science.

This role will be a key technical and people leader responsible for enabling the business with the right information, tools, and technologies to gain valuable insights and make data-driven decisions. The Senior Manger, Data is a hands-on leadership role and will play a key part in people management, team building and providing mentorship.  Along with people management this role will set tactical and strategic priorities for the team, define best data practices, build coding guidelines, enable data quality and data governance. This team and role is a critical element to Evolve’s success and helps position the organization as an innovator and thought-leader in the vacation rental space.

 

What you’ll do

  • Build, mentor, and empower a team of data and analytics engineers. 
  • Define a strategic vision for scalable and latency bound data ingestion, storage and compute capabilities. Build alignment on this vision with cross functional teams.
  • Deliver tools and services for operationally efficient Data Pipelines, Data Quality and Observability. 
  • Define and enforce best coding practices, standardization of DataOps and data governance.
  • Leverage Gen AI capabilities to automate data analysis, code refactoring and text to SQL capabilities.
  • Transform the legacy data models and data principles into nextgen maturity including use of pub-sub architectures, modular ETL and self service data visualization.
  • Implement cloud native principles for data processing, data unification and democratization of data.
  • Build maturity in DataOps and MLOPs specifically for feature engineering, model training and model serving.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the data you work with and ensure the quality and trustworthiness of data sources used for analytics and data science.
  • Maintain and optimize Evolve’s cloud data platform, environment, and infrastructure by solving problems and tuning performance for underlying data structures, systems, and processes.

 

What makes you a great fit

  • 8+ years of relevant data warehouse, data lake engineering and dataOps experience
  • 5+ years Experience in leading data & analytics engineering team to deliver descriptive and predictive analytics capabilities.
  • SQL, Python or Go knowledge is required, experience in any other coding language is desirable
  • Experience with APIs, Kafka, GraphQL, Snowflake, Fivetran, dbt, Tableau, and AWS is highly desirable.
  • Ability to spread data awareness, embedding data in the decision making process and unifying data across different business and technical applications.
  • Experience with Git version control and repository management in Gitlab
  • Expertise with one or more cloud-based data warehouses is required such as Snowflake
  • Have an ability to explain complex information and concepts to technical and non-technical audiences 
  • Experience in providing mentorship to teams, goal setting, performance management and creating career plans for engineers.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast paced and challenging environment with conflicting priorities.

We currently are able to hire throughout the U.S except in the following states: Hawaii, and District of Columbia, If you live in Colorado, you can work remotely anywhere in the state, at our downtown Denver office, or a hybrid of both!

Compensation

Annual base salary range: $170-$215, depending on relevant experience
