Senior Data Analyst, Trust & Safety

We are looking for a Senior Data Analyst  in our Data and Analytics team within the Trust & Safety Organization to support us to work with the Legal Team and complete Analytical projects for generating actionable insights. The Data and Analytics team mission is to provide accurate, timely and insightful operational data and insights that empowers partner teams to make informed decisions that keep Pinterest safe and loved. The team focuses on reporting, visualizations, proactive analytical insights, statistical insights and supports XFN teams to make better decisions, monitor how effectively we’re solving issues for Pinners, and identify ways to do better.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Conduct analyses and provide technical guidance to support Enforcement Ops and Legal teams.
  • Develop metrics, reporting structures and dashboards that help measure and improve operational performance.
  • Partner with other technical team members to standardize and improve existing data sources and reporting processes.
  • Identify operational pain points and areas of opportunity and leverage analytics to generate solutions and recommendations.
  • Works with limited manager guidance to partner with stakeholders to proactively identify and answer more complex business questions, driving process and decision-making improvements. Their approach regularly combines business acumen, sophisticated analytical/technical approaches, and multi-phase processes. Starts to own more sophisticated decision-support questions with stakeholders and communicates "so what" that anticipates potential objections and roadmap implications.
  • Data Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of large datasets to extract meaningful insights and identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
  • Report Generation: Create comprehensive reports and visualizations to communicate findings effectively to stakeholders and management, utilizing tools like Tableau or Power BI.
  • Data Cleaning and Preparation: Ensure data integrity by cleaning, validating, and transforming data as necessary, preparing it for analysis.
  • Statistical Analysis: Apply statistical methods and models to interpret data, perform hypothesis testing, and support decision-making processes.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, present analysis results, and provide data-driven recommendations for improvements or optimizations.

 

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience using quantitative analysis to identify areas of improvement and influence business decisions.
  • Demonstrated experience extracting, manipulating and analyzing complex data using SQL or comparable languages.
  • Knowledge of business intelligence tools like Tableau.
  • Experience with Python.
  • Creativity in developing new processes, conducting analyses and providing recommendations.
  • Experience in Trust & Safety (Good to have).
  • Experience working with non-technical stakeholders.
  • At least 5/6+ years of relevant experience in the field of Data and Analytics.

In-Office Requirement:
We let the type of work you do guide the collaboration style. That means we're not always working in an office, but we continue to gather for key moments of collaboration and connection. This role will need to be in the office for in-person collaboration 1-2 times/quarter and therefore can be situated anywhere in the country.
