Scoring a great deal is the number one priority for Hopper’s customers. Because our customers are Hopper’s number one priority, we are hyper focused on providing our customers with the best hotels at the best prices. The Hotels Marketplace team is looking for a naturally curious Product Analyst who will play a critical role in making Hopper the cheapest place to book travel.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who enjoys diving deep into the data just as much as they love rolling up their sleeves to solve customer problems. 


This role will have a material impact on Hopper’s revenue while continuing to lower prices for customers. If you’re a results-oriented, creative thinker who gets excited about extracting meaningful insights from data and putting them into action, this could be the role for you!

What would your day-to-day look like:

    • Consistently improve our price competitiveness to drive material business and customer impact.
    • Develop a pricing roadmap with both a long term vision and incremental steps to deliver impact along the way.
    • Own and advocate for data quality across Hopper’s hotels business.
    • Become the expert on hotels data structure and analysisManage ongoing competitive pricing analysis for Hopper Hotels Marketplace.
    • Analyze hotels and pricing data to identify areas of opportunity, and design experiments to test hypotheses.
    • Dive deep into the global impact of hotel pricing on the broader company’s revenue and customer lifetime value.
    • Create comprehensive dashboards that are easy to understand for all cross-functional stakeholders.

An ideal candidate has:

    • SQL mastery and strong data analysis skills. 
    • Scrappy, pragmatic and business-oriented. Able to make data-informed decisions with imperfect data, identify areas to improve our data quality, and prioritize solutions based on business impact.
    • Delivers impact in a fast-paced environment. Able to prioritize competing objectives based on impact potential, and implement solutions to reach those goals through experimentation. 
    • Self-starter. Eager to learn new technologies and domains to get the job done without waiting to be told what to do.
    • Strong written communication skills. Able to construct a compelling, data-driven narrative to express ideas and proposals.  Conveys experiment results in succinct, impact-focused analyses.

Preferred Qualifications:

    • Knowledge of Python or willingness to learn
    • Experience working with product and engineering teams, especially in the e-commerce or travel industries.
    • Experience designing and building tables needed to solve business problems, and building ETL pipelines with tools like Apache Airflow.
    • Experience with a reporting tool like Amplitude, a data warehouse like Google BigQuery, and a preferred visualization tool to explain insights from large data sets.
