What you’ll do:

• Understand Andela’s platform, value proposition, and roadmap by working with stakeholders across the entire organization - from commercial leaders, to business operators, to product and engineering teams.
• Take ownership of high-visibility projects across the product and engineering organization to help create innovative solutions for a category-defining platform
• This role is founded in research and development, so you’ll be tasked with, and have the opportunity to define, unique phenomena that occur at Andela - and will be responsible for informing and guiding technology solutions to drive efficiencies here at scale
• Drive a culture of experimentation-driven product development. A/B testing and variance analysis should be core to your skillset
• Own the excitement of entropy! Our platform, products, and offerings are constantly changing and expanding. We encourage and enable each individual at Andela to drive a commercial idea when they identify one, which creates an ever-changing data landscape. 

Who you are:

• At home in an environment where you are responsible for taking action with stakeholders to drive change!
• 4+ years experience working in data-driven analytics/predictive analytics/statistical modeling/data mining
• Ability to code in Python and write complex, efficient SQL queries to extract data
• Experience with A/B testing and ability to run rigorous experiments to come up with scientifically sound recommendations
• Good understanding of how to grow and shape data tools and datasets to improve data-driven decision making
• Ability to thrive in an unstructured environment, working autonomously on a strong team to find opportunity and deliver business impact

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bonus points but not required, having worked on Search ranking, Ad-tech, Supply Chain, Risk or Fraud
• Experience building ML models
• PhD or MS in computer science, machine learning, statistics, physics
• Interesting side projects or Kaggle competition results
