Counterpart: Value-based care, at the point of care.

At Counterpart Health, we are transforming healthcare and improving patient care with our innovative primary care tool, Counterpart Assistant. By supporting Primary Care Physicians (PCPs), we are able to deliver improved outcomes to our patients at a lower cost through early diagnosis and longitudinal care management of chronic conditions.

We are hiring a Director of Analytics on the Counterpart Assistant team to lead our analytics team. The analytics team is a mix of data scientists, analysts, and BI developers working to build our analytics platform, our analytics pipelines, and driving our analytic understanding of the Counterpart Assistant’s impact on improving patients’ outcomes. This role spans internal analysis such as product analytics, external reporting such as customer business reviews, and product functionality in our embedded reporting suite. We deeply value and focus on driving data driven decisions and empowering our pods to be able to generate those insights.

The ideal candidate will have an understanding of healthcare clinical and claims data, strong technical expertise, and a passion for improving healthcare through innovative data solutions.

As Director of Analytics, you will:

  • Manage a team of data scientists, analysts, and BI developers to most effectively drive impact for our users and their patients.
  • Focus on identifying and solving the highest impact analytics data platform enhancements both for our users and our business simultaneously.
  • Be a part of the Counterpart technology leadership team, helping build and design OKRs for the product as well as the pods.
  • Be the subject matter expert within Counterpart Assistant for all things relating to our analytics data, our analytics platform, and how other pods leverage this data to drive insights and capabilities.
  • Iteratively improve the analytics data platform, finding ways to deliver value as early as possible in the development process.
  • Articulate how Counterpart can measure the progress it’s making; if you can’t measure it, you can’t describe how you’ve moved it.
  • Be accountable to analytics which drive outcomes. Analytics should drive understanding, enabling us to make data informed decisions, which improve business outcomes.
  • Monitor and address data quality issues, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the analytics data.

Success in this role looks like:

  • Over the first 90 days you’ll spend time building relationships with your new direct reports and broader technology team while understanding the needs across the executive team, product, engineering, data science, clinical and customers. Success is measured by your ability to build relationships and understand the needs of those different stakeholders. It is expected that they will understand the existing analytic systems in place by the end of 90 days. Ideally, within 90 days we are making progress on the end to end systems supporting our analytics.
  • Within the first 6 months, success is measured as evolving the team and processes from a well instrumented (but complex to consistently, repeatedly, and intuitively query) analytics system to one that can be usable by a team of analysts for the vast majority of product and customer analytics. Product analytics should be largely addressable with less variability and less expertise needed of the analytics consumer for understanding performance.
  • Over time, this individual's performance will be measured as a member of the technical leadership team helping set the direction and strategy for how we can continue to scale a data driven technology organization using scalable and repeatable analytics patterns. The end to end analytics needs will be consistently maintained and grown in cost effective ways for Counterpart, while unlocking insights and value for our stakeholders and customers.

You should get in touch if:

  • You have minimum of 8+ years experience.
  • You have at least 4+ years experience working with healthcare data such as FHIR, claims, or EHR data.
  • You are an expert in driving efficacy analyses, both via A/B testing and where A/B testing is not viable.
  • You have experience being part of an empowered product organization.
  • You are an expert with SQL and data analytics, and have an understanding of machine learning approaches.
