As ATB's next CX Metrics Data Developer, you areresponsible for finding trends in data sets in a GCP environment and developing algorithms to help make raw data more useful to the enterprise, enabling ATB to grow through healthy client relationships. This role requires a set of technical skills, including a knowledge of SQL database design and programming languages such as Python. The CX Metrics Data Developer also needs communication and business skills to collaborate across ATB departments, teams, and stakeholders, and to understand the client experience challenges ATB’s business leaders need to solve.

The CX Metrics Data Developer is generally responsible for building algorithms to help give easier access to raw data, but to do this, they need to understand the stakeholder’s objectives. It’s important to have business goals in mind when working with data, especially in the GCP environment where one handles large and complex individual datasets and databases.

The CX Metrics Data Developer also needs to understand how to optimize retrieval of client data and how to develop dashboards, reports and other visualizations for stakeholders. Depending on the task, the CX Metrics Data Developer may be responsible for communicating certain data trends.

Work Scope

There are three main roles that the CX Metrics Data Developer may need to assume. These include:

  • Generalist: This is especially relevant, as CX Metrics is a small team. In this context the CX Metrics Data Developer wears many hats and will often be responsible for every step of the data process, from managing data to analyzing it.
  • Pipeline-centric: pipeline-centric problems involve working alongside data scientists to help make use of the data they collect in terms of incorporating those data into the client data infrastructure. Pipeline-centric items require basic knowledge of distributed systems and some computer science background.
  • Database-centric: Those tasks focus on analytics in the GCP environment. The CX Metrics Data Developer works across multiple databases and is responsible for developing table schemas.

In addition, the CX Metrics Data Developer will be required from time to time to support other CX Metrics team activities including collection of key metrics, and populating and validation of ongoing reporting.

Responsibilities

The CX Metrics Data Developer is tasked with managing and organizing data, while also keeping an eye out for trends or inconsistencies that will impact business goals. It is a technical position, generally requiring experience and skills in areas like programming, computer science, and business operation. The CX Metrics Data Developer also needs soft skills to communicate data trends to stakeholders in the AoE, to help ATB make use of the data the team collects. The day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Develop, construct, test and maintain relevant GCP data architectures
  • Align the architecture with business requirements
  • Develop data set transition processes
  • Use programming language and tools to implement the processes
  • Identify ways to improve data reliability, efficiency and quality
  • Prepare data for predictive and prescriptive modeling, as required
  • Find patterns using the raw data and its summaries
  • Use data to discover tasks that can be automated
  • Deliver updates to stakeholders based on analytics
  • Collection of key metrics, population and validation of metrics in CX Metrics reporting
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, math, science, or equivalent
  • 3+ years of work experience in data science; work in banking and finance / client experience field is a plus.
  • Expert SQL skills.
  • Working knowledge in current data science and visualization technologies
  • General programming skills at least at an intermediate level. Sound understanding of cloud-based architectures. Demonstrated domain knowledge in Predictive Analytics, Natural Language Conversation, Statistics or similar would be an asset.
  • Experience writing documentation, publications and presenting strategic and tactical and business performance updates to executive stakeholders and industry experts.
  • Experience in assessing and communicating business value based on quantitative and qualitative data models.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts for broad audiences.
