What You Will Do:
We are actively searching for a highly qualified and motivated Data Architect to join our team. The successful candidate is responsible for the design, implementation, oversight, and optimization of a data warehouse that interfaces with distributed enterprise applications with external and internal interfaces utilizing Microservices and business automation. In addition to the creation of custom software and data models within an Agile & DevSecOps environment, the candidate should exhibit excellent problem solving and data analysis skills as well as a proven ability to work independently.

  • Design, Develop and Implement data solutions to efficiently store and retrieve secure company information to solve business problems
  • Work with product management to translate requirements into technical design and provide estimates
  • Develop high quality, shippable/release products in short increments
  • Work closely with engineering and QA to manage and improve the data pipeline
  • Work closely with security to meet required security controls
  • Lead a small team of engineers either formally or informally
  • Analyze structural requirements for new software and applications
  • Migrate data from legacy systems to new solutions
  • Design conceptual and logical data models
  • Improve system performance by conducting tests, troubleshooting and integrating new elements
  • Optimize new and current database systems
  • Analyze data from disparate sources and develop a vision for combining those sources into a more cohesive, easier-to-use framework
  • Design and build data warehouse structures (databases, SSAS cubes, etc)
  • It is essential that this candidate have exceptional communication skills and be flexible with technology, environment, and priorities


What You Will Need:

  • US citizenship and ability to obtain a public trust
  • Bachelor's degree or associated years experience
  • 10+ years proven work experience as a Data Architect, Data Scientist, or similar role
  • 5+ IT engineering / software work
  • 5+ years of data modeling experience
  • Proficient working with Scrum based development teams
  • Proficiency working with distributed, modular system architectures (i.e. Microservices, SOA)
  • Strong understanding of network and environment stack and best practices for enterprise application and data security
  • Bash and SSH experience on RHEL
  • Extensive experience utilizing continuous integration and deployment tools
  • Extensive experience working with relational and NoSQL data stores
  • Knowledge of normal forms, Star-Schema and other data warehousing modeling techniques
  • In-depth understanding of database structure principles
  • Experience gathering and analyzing system requirements
  • Knowledge of data mining and segmentation techniques
  • Knowledge of effective data management principles
  • Expertise with data visualization tools (e.g. Looker, Power PI, Tableau, R)
  • Expertise with data warehouse tools (e.g., BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, etc)
  • Expertise with both OLTP and OLAP style systems

What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • Certifications that demonstrate a candidate’s knowledge; IBM, Google and or Amazon
  • JIRA, Bamboo or Jenkins, Bitbucket (Git), Confluence
  • Docker, Kubernetes
  • Expertise with ELT/ETL tools
  • Experience designing and operating Cloud Native solutions
  • Experience applying Machine Learning tools and techniques to extra insights from data

The annual salary range for this position is $182,800.00-$274,300.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
