This is an engagement through Upwork’s Hybrid Workforce Solutions (HWS) Team. Our Hybrid Workforce Solutions Team is a global group of professionals that support Upwork’s business. Our HWS team members are located all over the world.

Work/Project Scope:

• Understand data infrastructure (Snowflake/PostgreSQL/Presto), product strategy, and our business model.
• Work with Operations and Product teams to become intimately familiar with the challenge they are trying to solve.
• Proactively use data to solve those problems and over time become the data-driven guide for your stakeholders on which problems they should be solving.
• Communicate clear, complete, and actionable insights. Drive implementations based on those insights.
• Contribute to improving the nuanced dynamics inherent to a double-sided marketplace. Deliver undiscovered insights that compel changes in corporate strategy and product decisions.
• Build executive-facing dashboards that provide partners with self-serve access to key performance indicators
• Partner with the Leadership Team, FP&A, and the larger Analytics community in asking difficult questions about the inner workings of our marketplace, specifically as they relate to Trust & Safety, and then leading the effort to answer those questions.

Must Haves(Required Skills): 

• Advanced SQL (write clean, well-commented, highly performant scripts that are deployed in an ETL platform)
• Data visualization (Looker & LookML experience preferred)
• Python (preferred), R, or other scripting language - either in a data-science or programming context A/B testing (Design and evaluate tests to incrementally improve product)
• Strong understanding of statistics - including modeling and forecasting
• Curiosity, proactivity, determination, follow-through, and accountability
