The Business Intelligence Director will direct the Business intelligence group centered on providing insight and aiding in business decision-making. Oversees the planning of projects to produce reports and perform meaningful quantitative or qualitative analyses addressing impactful business issues or questions.
The Director will collaborate with other departments including but not limited to Operations, Account Management, Sales, Onboarding and Finance to identify and generate potential business intelligence initiatives, and ensures the business intelligence analyst have the tools, training, and understanding of the field to produce effective dashboards, reports, and metrics.
The Business Intelligence Director is expected to resolve or escalate issues arising from operations requiring coordination with other departments.
- Strong analytical mindset where details matter and the big picture is the guide.
- 8-10+ years’ experience in Business Intelligence/Analytics
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Tech or related field
- Strong data presentation and visualization skills; experience and formal training with data visualization (e.g., advanced proficiency in Tableau or Power BI)
- Strong analysis and pattern recognition skills, as well as synthesis skills, to be able to streamline work.
- Strong expertise with business strategy and supporting organizations with taking action on insights.
- Advanced skills creating insights from data and automating data processes.
- Advanced proficiency in MS PowerPoint to create compelling stories through insights.
- Intermediate competency in executing ETL process with little to no supervision using a combination of SQL, Python, and/or Alteryx
- Experience with relational databases
- Experience working with Salesforce, Looker, and other internal tools.
Responsibilities
- This role is accountable for supporting leaders to make more data driven decisions, and creating business intelligence tools, visualizations, standards, and insights presentations.
- Directs enterprise data intelligence and data analytics for Finexio including design, development, and support of the data warehouse, dashboards, and other data analytical environments and systems.
- Interacts with leadership, key stakeholders, developers, and technical departments to promote information sharing, coordinate enterprise data intelligence development, assist in the coordination of development methodologies, and tools to provide operational support across the company.
- Develop BI visualizations and actionable insights presentations based on business priorities.
- Coach business partners on how to utilize dashboards and focus on continuous improvement to drive adoption.
- Directs the detailed analysis, design, coding, testing, implementation and maintenance of reports, dashboards, and other delivery methods used to support business, clinical, and research analysis.
- Manages, designs, and develops integrated data environment plans relevant to report system implementations.
- Establishes standards to ensure communication to the client regarding the status of problems, enhancements, and development projects occurs in a consistent manner and on a regular basis.
- Provides support and guidance in the development of staff, ideally a Player Coach Acting like an owner & doer.
- Positively influences subordinates' performance through orientation, monitoring, feedback, education, and counseling.
- Improves the implementation, design, and maintenance process by evaluating the adequacy of the tool sets and introducing new tools, techniques, and practices to ensure efficiency and productivity.
- In conjunction with the leadership, creates an annual financial system plan, ensuring preparation of the initial draft of the plan including budgeting and staffing requirements.
- Maintains a formal tracking process for projects, reports, dashboards, clients, and Information Technology staff and management.
- Provides assistance to senior leadership in the development of projected timetables for proposed projects.

Compensation: $125,000 - $160,000 base + equity.
